Timber Wolf Released From Trap Unharmed

John Oens was checking his traps in central Wisconsin when he discovered a timber wolf had been caught in one of his traps. With more and more timber wolves moving down into the lower 48, one of them getting caught in a trapper’s trap is almost inevitable. Wolf tags are pretty hard to come by so most of the time the the timber wolf will have to be released. You might never actually find yourself in this particular situation, but this video shows you a good technique for releasing dangerous animals from your traps – unharmed. This timber wolf ran off perfectly unharmed. check out this buck that was found with the head of his dead rival attached to it’s rack.

This is a 2015 HD video of me trapping and releasing a timber wolf in central Wisconsin.
