However, with a little bit of practice and some intuitive recipes, your bacon strips will always come out crispy, perfect, and ready to be served. Nostalgia Bacon Grill is more of a compact toaster, except for the fact that you use bacon instead of bread slices.

All you need to do is open the hinges/ flaps on either side and then set your bacon strips on the vertical bar. You can set as many as 6 pieces without any issues. Leave the glowing dial timer running on as per the bacon thickness, and the rest will be taken care of automatically.

The vertical positioning of this Crispy Bacon Grill allows for all the excessive fat to trickle down into the sliding tray at the bottom. After you get done with the cooking, pull the tray carefully as not to splash the fatty water deposit on the kitchen floor. The overall material is washable and rust free, hence accounting for extended shelf life.

  • Serves 2 – 3 at one time. The serving size depends on the bacon strips’ thickness etc.
  • Very easy to clean up. Nostalgia used a non-stick anodized heating element on the inside, and scratch resistant material on the outside body.
  • The unit is very easy to dismantle/ disassemble. The mechanism unfolds in few easy steps.
  • Minimum learning curve. Bacon newbies can get their skills polished by following simple instructions, and a few online bacon recipes.
  • As stated earlier, the greasy fat deposits get stored in the bottom sliding tray. Therefore, the taste remains intact until the last bite. Beware of the grease stains, just in case the tray tilts over accidentally on a rug or on your clothes.

Before buying the Nostalgia Bacon Express Grill, I read a few nasty reviews from different people. Some of them were complaining about how the bacon quality sucks, and blame this bacon maker for burning their bacon to a crispy charcoal mess! If it were up to me, I’d smack some common sense in those idiots.

This bacon grill is not a magic pill; use your nose and eyes to see the bacon progress as it roasts. You can flip open the side with a baking mitt or a pair of tongs and flip each strip as needed. Do this, and you will thank me later for helping you out.

Additionally, if your bacon comes out a little drier, you can pan cook it using a few drops of oil in a nonstick pan. For a person who begrudgingly cooks food, I found this bacon grill to be a great substitute for my lack of culinary skills. On a somber note, since you’d be spending your hard-earned money on this grill, don’t be an idiot and leave the bacon in there to roast on its own. Feel free to make a few adjustments as the process goes along, and you will savor the “end result” to bits.
