Hope for Paws is an organization that has been working hard to help out lost and abandoned dogs throughout Los Angeles. When they happened upon one little poodle with matted fur, they knew she needed help. You won’t believe the transformation that this little poodle went through!

Hope for Paws is a 501 C-3 non-profit animal rescue group based in Los Angeles, California. The organization has been working hard to rescue and find homes for tons of homeless and injured dogs throughout the area.

On this day, Hope for Paws received a call about a severely matted homeless dog. They were told that the dog was in pretty bad shape. So they quickly headed out.

So two of the rescuers from the organization drove over in their car to the location. They soon spotted her hanging around by some bushes. They were shocked by what they saw!

“You’re a mess,” said founder Eldad Hagar. What Eldad and fellow rescuer, Sylva Kelegian, saw in front of them was completely heartbreaking. The dog’s white coat was completely filthy and was the color of dirt.

“I’ve never seen a dog this matted in my life,” Sylva exclaimed in shock. The dog’s fur was horribly matted and it was hanging off her in chunks. Eldad and Sylva knew they had to act fast.

The two of them began to slowly approach the poodle. However, the poodle wasn’t having it. She was very wary of them and so Eldad began to give her space to trust them.

Eldad brought the leash pole over to the poodle’s face so that she could sniff it. She was growling at them, however, he continued to reassure her that everything was going to be all right.

Finally, after backing away and growling at the pair, the poodle accepted that there was no way out. She allowed Eldad to place the leash pole over her neck. That’s when Eldad did something incredibly sweet…

Once Eldad got the leash pole on her, he began to give her the sweetest head rubs and pets. He wanted her to feel safe and to understand that they were trying to help her. Then, Eldad placed his lucky leash around her.

“No one will ever hurt you again,” they both tell her as they place the lucky leash around her. At first, the team couldn’t even tell if the poodle was a boy or girl because of how much matted fur there was. However, Eldad soon found out it was a she!
9. Naming Her

Once they got her into the car, Eldad decided to name her Dolly. They soon brought Dolly over to the rescue center. That’s when her transformation process began!
8. Cleaning Up

The first step was to shave off all of the matted fur from Dolly’s body. This process took several hours as she had so much matted fur. They also wanted to avoid hurting her.
7. Bath Time

Once all of the matted fur had been shaved off, it was time to give Dolly a bath. Dolly greatly enjoyed being washed off. It was a nice treat for her to have all of the dirt removed from her body.
6. Dried Off

After her bath, Dolly was wrapped up in a towel and dried off. She was looked after and pampered. This was a wonderful treat for a dog that had been living on the streets for so long.
5. Personality Change

“It’s amazing how quickly a dog’s personality changes when given a little love and care,” Hope for Paws writes. Although she was initially skittish and aggressive, now Dolly is loving and incredible happy.
4. Forever Home

Shortly after she was rescued, The Forgotten Dog Foundation was able to find Dolly her new forever home. It was the perfect find at just the right time! She has since been enjoying life even more.

Dolly has been all smiles since she was rescued. In fact, there doesn’t seem to be a moment that passes by where she isn’t absolutely thrilled to just be living!

Her new family absolutely adore her and she also has a new dog sibling as well. Dolly is happily enjoying her life in her new forever home. It’s been great for her.
