The crew from Hill Country Rifles have done it again, with yet another world record shot. This time it was 4,549 yards.
The guys over at Hill Country Rifles are no stranger when it comes to breaking world record long distance shots. They have done this before. HCR has set the world record with a 3,800 yard shot and a 4,210 yard shot and even their first, a 3,600 yard shot. Just in case you were wondering, this target is over 2.5 miles out and is 8’x8′ large. Before you decide to troll these guys because it’s not a moving target or whatever, let’s see you give this a go and make the shot.

On October 29th, 2016 the team from Hill Country Rifles set up to attempt their longest shot to date using HCR’s Extreme Long Range Tactical rifle in 375 Cheytac. The GPS coordinates put the shot distance at a remarkable 4549 yards.
HCR President, Dave Fuqua, developed a fantastic load that produced 3049 fps with only 3.6 fps standard deviation. The shooting was done at Tim Fallon’s FTW Ranch, home of the SAAM Precision Training Course, with shooter Jim Spinella.
Expert wind and elevation calls by FTW’s Doug Prichard, Walt Hasser, and HCR’s own Justus Ballard combined to give Jim the information he needed to execute the shot.
The team recorded two hits Friday evening and two more hits Saturday morning. The target was an 8’X8′ white board with a 45″ red bullseye in the middle.
”To say we had a great time would be an understatement,” said HCR’s GM Matt Bettersworth. “This is all about having fun with friends and seeing what we can ring out of an extreme rifle set up with the latest and greatest in barrels, scopes, and bullets.”
