Short version: the Mighty Purse we featured, a purse with a built-in phone battery, isn’t sold anymore, and its old website now points somewhere else entirely (we removed the link). Purses with built-in batteries are hard to find new. The practical alternative is a small phone crossbody bag plus a compact power bank in the pocket.

The idea was brilliant: a purse that charges your phone so you never hit 1% at dinner. Here’s what it had and how to recreate it today, based on a 2018 review and the current listing (we didn’t test them hands-on).

Specs from The Gadgeteer’s 2018 Mighty Purse review, the crossbody listing on Amazon. Checked October 2026.
Label check: the crossbody bag is an alternative without a battery. Pair it with any small power bank.
What matters in real use
- A separate power bank is more flexible. When it wears out, you replace the battery, not the bag.
- Pick a slim bank. A credit-card-size power bank fits a phone pocket without bulging.
- Hands-free matters. A crossbody keeps your phone reachable at concerts and theme parks.
- Short cable, big difference. A 6-inch cable keeps the pocket tidy.
Gift it to: the friend whose phone always dies first, a teen heading to a concert, or a mom who carries everyone’s phone anyway.
