You’ll Love the Control this PC Audio Mixer by PCPanel Gives You
Imagine you’re playing a game, and the settings for the audio are great, but then you switch over to a new application, and wow, it’s loud. Switching from different applications with a PC can mean constantly altering your volume especially as you move from music to games. PCPanel, a PC Audio mixer Kickstarter project that is now shipping, aims to solve that. The developers have crafted a sleek wooden box that features all of the knobs you need to have great sound on your terms. You hook it up and then you can control the volume of your PC without switching applications.
PCPanel works with your PC by connecting to it via a USB cable, and it doesn’t require PCPanel software, which makes installation simple. It’s milled from a single block of high-quality maple wood to make it durable and decorated with high-quality stamped lettering.
Measuring 4.25″ x 2″ x 2,’ it’s a slim addition to your desk or setup that won’t take up too much room. The surface is hand-finished according to the manufacturers to give the wood a clean effect, while the knobs are crafted of hand-polished aluminum.
Sounds pretty straight forward, doesn’t it? It is. You just use PCPanel to change the output device. Each button is set to a device that you set for a desired sound and volume. For instance, set button 1 to your speakers, but set button 2 to your headset, as PCPanel suggests. When you want to switch between the two, you just click the corresponding button on the panel. You also get music control capabilities with PCPanel, as it packs in the ability to do the following by setting the buttons:
- Next Track
- Previous Track
These features should make it easy for you to turn off music or sound effects that suddenly come blaring through when you’re working on something or switching to a program. Not only that, but the buttons can also open or close the assigned application as you choose or even run a macro. You can set these things up with the included PCPanel software that lets you expand the possibilities beyond simple volume control.
The PCPanel PC Audio Mixer launched on Kickstarter in July 2017 and was fully funded within three days because the game community at large needed this. The initial goal for the project was $5,000, however, it received over $17,000. Now if you didn’t get a chance to get your own as a backer, you can buy it from the makers.
Get a look at the PCPanel software now and pick up your own PCPanel PC Audio Mixer block at the official website. Right now it’s running about $59.99 and comes with a 5 foot USB cable to let you get started right away. You also have the option to purchase it with 5 adhesive strips to help secure it in place on your gaming rig.
