Florida City Now Has ‘Super Hero’ Parking Spots For Veterans And First Responders

So the city of Cocoa Beach, Florida has came up with a new way to honor veterans and first responders – by giving them Super Hero parking spots. Back in November a local councilman and veteran Tyler Furbish proposed the idea to the city manager John Titkanich. A couple of days later 3 Super Hero spots were opened at the Cocoa Beach, Florida City Hall. These Super Hero parking spots read “Super Hero Parking Only” and are intended for use by veterans, active duty service members, firefighters and police officers. “We always need to honor our first responders and our veterans for what they have done and what they continue to do on a daily basis,” said Furbish. “ … I thought that’s just a great thing and we should do it.”

Furbish said the city can’t really enforce the parking and it will work on an honor system. So far so good, he said, noting the spots are being used and there haven’t been any complaints.

“I would like to see it spread across the county,” he added. Via  – USAToday
